H.M.S. Pinafore – 1957
It was decided to put on H.M.S Pinafore in 1957, and with a cast of only 28, this opera was staged about 12 times, by invitation, at various places. All effort was voluntary, costumes and scenery had to be
devised very economically, but the result was most creditable and the team spirit and enthusiasm particularly appealed to audiences. Sponsors were charged a small fee to cover production expenses.
