Audition bookings for our October 2026 production of ‘Frozen’ are not open yet, but will open on 22nd of March, 9am.

We are seeking interest from people who are passionate about performing; performers of all ages who are excited to share in our milestone production of Frozen, The Broadway Musical. This season marks Babirra Music Theatre’s 70th year and features the Melbourne metropolitan premiere of this beloved show, making it a truly special occasion to be part of.

So, please book an audition. Encourage someone you know to come and audition too. And, if for some reason being on the stage is not for you, we have lots of opportunities to be involved behind the scenes with set construction, costuming and dressing, props, stage crew and much more. Dance and Movement Audition (by invitation):

AUDITION PACK
Due to the expected number of auditionees, we are unable to accept video auditions for adult roles. All adult auditions must be attended in person to ensure a fair and consistent audition process for everyone.

Important Dates

REHEARSALS
Rehearsals will be on Monday and Thursday evenings from 8-10:30pm, and on Sundays from 1-5pm.
First rehearsal – Monday 22nd June, 8pm to 10:30pm

PRODUCTION WEEK
Thursday 24th September – Wednesday 30th September
Venue: The Round, Nunawading

PERFORMANCE DATES
12 performances from Thursday 1st October, 2026 to Sunday 11th October 2026

Audition Requirements

Adult Casting 

• Cast must be aged 16+ at the time of auditions.
• Cast members aged 18+ will be required to have a current Working With Children Check, or be able to apply for one at the time of the first rehearsal.
• If cast, we will request that you do not audition for any other show or commit to anything that affects your availability for any rehearsal and production dates.

Junior Casting 

• Children Cast must be aged 10+ at the time of auditions.
• Parents/Guardians will be required to provide permission to Babirra Music Theatre to ‘employ’ based on the current Childsafe legislation. For more information: Children working in entertainment – information for parents
• Children’s cast will be doubled with performances equally split between the two casts.
• If cast, we will request that you do not audition for any other show or commit to anything that affects your availability for any rehearsal and production dates.
